Newspapers and magazines are being used intensively on tablet computers, such as the iPad. That is one of the main findings of the new iPad panel of Axel Springer Media Impact, the marketing organisation of the Axel Springer publishing corporation.

As part of a market research project, a total of 705 iPad users were polled directly in typical use situations on their tablet device. The survey also revealed that more than half of those polled read more newspapers and magazines (print or app) since they possess an iPad. This leads to the conclusion that digital offerings on tablet devices can attract new readers as well as intensify the use of print contents. Cross-marketing works!
